The site gives you a lot of information about Oakhurst - its structure, rules and regulations, and amenities. Please take a few minutes to read through this page for a general overview of Oakhurst. Oakhurst Subdivision
Oakhurst is a master-planned community located in the Fox Valley area of Aurora. It is designed with the active family in mind. The subdivision offers a very special lifestyle. It consists of quality homes, tree-lined parkways and landscaped entrances, and a community park that includes a private recreational club.
The neighborhoods that comprise Oakhurst each have their own distinctive identity, and offer well crafted single-family homes, luxury townhouses, and apartments. Single-family neighborhoods include Ashbrook (53 homes), Aspen (44 homes), Autumn Meadows (58 homes), Breckenridge (97 homes), Carriage Estates (41 homes), Inverness (311 homes), Mayfair (216 homes), Stanfield (68 homes), Summerfield (105 homes), The Woods (176 homes), and Wild Meadows (27 homes). Luxury townhouse neighborhoods include the Townes of Oakhurst (136 homes), the Townes of Oakhurst Condominiums (24 homes), the Country Homes of Oakhurst (72 homes), Heather Glen (168 homes), Autumn Lakes (204 homes), and Abington Woods (116 homes). There are 320 residences located at the Hunter Glen Apartments.
The beauty and serenity of Oakhurst is protected by rules and regulations that ensure each Oakhurst homeowner that the beauty and environmental integrity of the community will be maintained over time.
Oakhurst Community Park, located on Oakhurst Drive, includes soccer fields, tennis courts, basketball courts, volleyball courts, baseball diamond, pavilion with restrooms and picnic table space, and playground equipment. All of this is available to all residents. For group events at the park, please complete an Oakhurst Community Park Group Event form (see Forms). The privately owned and operated Oaks Recreational Club located within the Oakhurst Community Park features a swimming pool and clubhouse. All questions regarding the facility should be directed to the Oaks Club manager at 851-1500.
Oakhurst is located next to the Waubonsie Creek park area and Waubonsie Lake, with a path system for walking, biking, or roller blading. Oakhurst is also located near the Fox Valley Park District Eola Community Center and Waubonsie Valley High School.
Oakhurst Community Association and Sub-Associations
All homeowners of Oakhurst are members of the Oakhurst Community Association (OCA). A Board of Directors, consisting of seven residents, governs the Association, each elected to a two-year term. The Board consists of four directors from single-family neighborhoods and three directors from multi-family neighborhoods.
The Association holds open Board of Directors meetings approximately 5 times a year at the Oaks Recreation Club clubhouse. The meetings are typically held on the fourth Tuesday of January, April, July, September, and October and begin at 7 p.m. All residents are welcome, and encouraged, to attend. The exact dates are published on this site in advance of these meetings. Each meeting includes an open portion at the beginning and end of the meeting, where residents and neighborhood representatives can ask questions or raise issues to the Board. The meetings also include a business portion, where the Board executes required business. The Board also disseminates information to residents in a monthly newsletter.
Rules and Regulations
All buyers of homes within Oakhurst are bound by the governing documents of the Association that include the Declarations of Covenants, Conditions, and Restrictions (CC&R), By-Laws, Rules & Regulations and Architectural Guidelines. When you purchased your home, copies of these documents should have been provided to you by the previous owner. For your convenience, you may read and/or download these documents from this web site.
In order for the various committees to perform their respective functions, standards have been established. These standards provide the committee members guidance in implementing the requirements of the CC&R and to ensure all residents are treated fairly. Since Oakhurst is located within the city limits of Aurora, all city rules and regulations apply to the residents of Oakhurst. These rules and regulations can be found by calling the City of Aurora at 892-8811 or by visiting the City of Aurora’s Code of Ordinances.
Neighborhood Representatives
Volunteer neighborhood representatives represent homeowners at OCA meetings. A committee of neighborhood representatives represents each single-family neighborhood. Each of the Townhouse neighborhoods has a sub-association that is separate from the master association, OCA. Single-family neighborhood representative committees consist of three residents, except Inverness, which consists of five. Townhouse neighborhoods are represented by one person, generally an officer of the sub-association. Apartment residents are represented by an apartment manager.
Neighborhood representatives are the voting members for each neighborhood, for the election of directors, and for other issues for which voting is required. They are provided with information on Board activities and other details regarding the subdivision. They interface with residents in their respective neighborhoods to provide assistance where needed. They also interface with the Board on behalf of the residents of their neighborhood to provide a communication link to the Board, and provide input to the Board on issues that arise in their neighborhood.
Committees
OCA includes committees that perform essential functions in support of operation of the subdivision and implementation of the CC&R. These committees are: Architectural Review, Recreation, Internet, Welcome and Traffic.
The Architectural Review Committee, with assistance from the property manager, processes all modification requests. This includes advising a resident of specific regulations, and reviewing/approving a submitted form.
The Compliance Committee ensures that the rules and regulations of Oakhurst are enforced. Among its duties are to hold resident hearings.
The Recreation Committee is responsible for coordinating and scheduling recreational activities - such as soccer, tennis and t-ball - at Oakhurst Community Park.
The Internet Committee works with the Board on matters relating to this Association web site. Among its duties are recommendations on developing the site for optimal resident communications, and marketing.
The Welcome Committee distributes packets of information to new residents and works to make new residents feel at home in our community.
The Traffic Committee will seek input from residents regarding traffic concerns within and around the Oakhurst neighborhood.

Oaks Recreational Club
The Oaks Recreational Club (ORC) is a
private club that maintains ownership of the clubhouse and pool facilities
located at Oakhurst Community Park. Some of the summer activities ORC sponsors
are the Orcas swim team, swim lessons, and holiday parties. For information on
membership, activities sponsored by the ORC or renting the clubhouse for
parties, please call the club manager at 851-1500 or visit

The
Oaks Recreation Club rents the clubhouse facility to both members and
