DUE MARCH 15 - Dues are $225 and are due no later than March 15.

US Route 34/Ogden Avenue at
EJ&E/CN Railroad Update
The EJ&E/CN railroad tracks currently cross Ogden Avenue/Route 34 at-grade. A future
grade separation is planned to reduce traffic delays, improve safety and support emergency
response. The Illinois Department of Transportation proposes a highway overpass,
with pedestrian and bicycle accommodations, as the preferred approach at this site based on
its Phase I study of alternatives and their impacts. Long-term gain will require short-term
pain, however. During construction, beginning
as early as 2014 and no later than 2015, traffic
will be shifted from four lanes to a temporary
two-lane run-around. Expect traffic congestion
to increase and some to seek alternate routes,
including residential streets not intended for
