2012 Women and Junior Summer Tennis League
2012 Women and Junior Summer Tennis League Registration is underway for Oakhurst women and juniors (age 8-18) who would like to play outdoor tennis in a social/competitive format. Women will play in the Naperville Women’s Summer Tennis League, while kids will play in the Naperville Junior Summer Tennis League. Both leagues play seven matches from approximately June 10 to July 29 against other neighborhoods (such as White Eagle, Stonebridge, Tall Grass, and Brookdale) in the Naperville/Aurora area. The Oakhurst teams will field beginner to intermediate players, not advanced players. Last year, Oakhurst fielded three women's teams: two C (beginner) teams and one B (intermediate) team.
Each women's team match consists of four doubles matches that are played 10 a.m.- noon on Fridays. Each junior team match will consist of eight singles and four doubles matches. Juniors age 8-13 can play on the Oakhurst middle school team and kids age 14-18 can play on the Oakhurst high school team. The middle school team plays 1-3 p.m. Friday and the high school team plays 3-5 p.m. Friday. Team practices will be held 7-8:30 p.m. Mondays/Wednesdays for women and 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesdays for juniors. Practice runs from April 23 to July 25.
Cost is $120 per person. The teams will be coached by Bob Nasenbeny, USTA Midwest junior team coach at the Zone Team National Championships. For more information, contact Bob at 630-915-7513 or at bobnasenbeny@gmail.com.
AYSO Soccer
The spring session for Backyard Soccer kicks off the week of April 11th so time to start thinking about kicking the ball around! If you did not play in the fall, you can still register for just the spring session from now until March 28th.
The spring session costs $80 per player which includes an 8 week league with 2 activities per week, a great looking uniform (shorts, jersey, socks) and an end of the season party.
All the games and practices are at the Oakhurst fields so a great chance for parents to socialize with your Oakhurst and Steck neighbors while the children hone their soccer skills.

Kickers Soccer Club
The Kickers Soccer Club is a not-for-profit, competitive traveling soccer club in the Aurora/Naperville area. The club's goals are to coordinate soccer activities for the benefit of the player, team, and the community. They strive to field teams that compete at a high level by developing players, but do not have a "win at any cost" philosophy.
The club's teams compete in the Northern Illinois Soccer League (NISL) and the Illinois Women's Soccer League (IWSL). They employ a professional training through Major League Soccer/Chicago Fire soccer camps. Their objective is to provide high level training to all teams and individuals in the club on a weekly basis so that players benefit from a consistent development process.

Team Chicago
Another soccer program in the area is Team Chicago. It is the traveling soccer program of the Wheatland Athletic Association, a not for profit association serving thousands of youths. The club has 31 boys and girls teams, ages U7-U17. Team Chicago strives to teach a high level of soccer at a very young age for both boys and girls, using methods that are fun for all ages. The focus is on the development of individual skills and teamwork, rather than winning games at all costs, and instilling ethics and sportsmanship in players, coaches and parents on and off the field.
